Laser Photo-Acoustic Gas Analyzer LGA-2 is based on tunable waveguide RF excited CO2 laser and resonant photo-acoustic detector. The system is applied for:
- Absorption spectral analysis of expired air and detection of gas markers of various human diseases,
- Local gas analysis of the air in 9…11 mkm spectral range,
- Search and measurement of low concentration of gas impurities in the atmosphere.

Application sample:

This system is used in Siberian State Medical University for researches on detection of gas markers of different human deseases in the expired air.
There is several times less oxygen in the expired air than in the atmosphere. Much more carbon dioxide. And about 100% relative humidity. And more than 400 different gas compounds, a lot of which are endogenous.
Together with the main atmospheric gases there could be gas-bio-markers of different deseases like CO, NO, CH4, NH3, C2H4, H2O2, CH3COCH2, etc. in the expired air.
Use of CO2-laser source for analysis allows to produce up to 100 lines of generation in spectral range 910-980 and 1040-1090 cm-2. Thereby, in one measurement run it is possible to get absorption coefficient scan of the analyzed air in spectral range from 9 to 11 mkm.
